Windsor-Essex ODA Committee Event; The ODA Committee is a voluntary coalition of individuals and community organizations who have united to secure the passage in Ontario of a new law which would achieve a barrier-free society for persons with disabilities.

On December 14th 1999 the Windsor-Essex ODA Committee will be erecting our Barrier Wall. Each member will think of a barrier that they face and that barrier will be attached to a brick in our wall. As the government begins to remove barriers, we will remove bricks from the wall.

Our idea is to create a visually inspiring concept that non-disabled and disabled people alike can relate to and remember. As we receive the support from the politicians in our area and visiting politicians they will be given a brick from our wall if they support an effective ODA. The wall will not come down until an ODA is in place.

We are hoping that media will be present to see the erection of the wall. A group picture will be taken at the time. Visitors in the Windsor-Essex area are welcome to view and participate in this event and share some Holiday Cheer with our group.

The event is at:

Catholic Central High School
441 Tecumseh Road E
Windsor Ontario
in the cafeteria,
December 14th at 1:30 PM

Sincerely,

Carolyn Williams
Secretary, ODA Windsor-Essex Chapter
