ONTARIANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENT

PLEASE CIRCULATE

The Ontario Legislature is holding its first session on the afternoon of Thursday April 22, 1999. The Government's Throne Speech will be read at that time. As has been the case in the past, the public gallery at Queens Park is largely inaccessible to people with various disabilities.

Accordingly, we have been arranging for two Committee Rooms at Queens Park to be made available to us to watch the Throne Speech on TV Monitors. Sign language interpreters and attendant care will be available.

We strongly encourage as many people with disabilities as possible to come and be with us at this important event. Plan to arrive at 2:30 p.m. and expect that all shall be finished by 5 p.m. Meet in the main lobby of the Legislative Building at Queens Park.

Because our space will be limited, we ask that you RSVP if you wish to attend. Please expect that RSVP's will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please notify us that you intend to come by contacting:
Janet Youdell
Voice: (416) 425-3463 ex. 388
Fax: (416) 425-1802
E-mail: jyoudell@dimes.on.ca
For TTY inquiries please contact Susan Main at (416) 964-9595 ex. 343

More information to follow when it becomes available. We regret the short notice, but the timing of the Legislature's session has only recently been announced. We hope you can join us on April 22.
